Pictures of the moon .. a terrible trick in Samsung phones

Samsung promoted the Galaxy S23 Ultra as being able to photograph the moon in high clarity through the ability to “enhanced zoom”, but this ability appears to be deceptive marketing, according to what the “Apple Insider” website quoted from an investigation of Reddit.

The report added that Samsung used artificial intelligence technology to enhance the details, clarity and accuracy of the moon’s images, to make it appear as if it was taken with a high-resolution telescope and not with a mobile phone.

During the experiment, the investigator ibreakphotos downloaded a picture of the moon from the Internet, blurred its features, and then photographed it with his Samsung mobile phone. That is, the user deceived the phone by photographing the computer screen instead of the moon.

Because the phone didn’t detect the difference, the AI produced a clear picture of what it thought was a real moon.

Samsung is promoting its Galaxy S23 Ultra mobile phone as the phone that has the most powerful zoom feature in the world of mobile phones, with more than 100 times the real image closeness.

While the phone actually contains, as videos filmed with it, an amazing zoom capability, the moon images are in fact artificial intelligence-enhanced images.
