On Sunday, April 16, 2023, Al-Arish Street in Giza experienced a surge of people looking to purchase Eid clothing as the holiday of Eid Al-Fitr approached. This area is known for being one of the most popular markets in Giza. Clothing stores throughout various commercial areas, such as Ataba, Al-Wakalah, Faisal, Bulaq, Al-Eshreen Street, Imbaba in Giza, Abbas Al-Akkad Street, Nasr City, and other areas in Cairo, witnessed a large turnout from citizens looking to buy Eid supplies such as clothes and Eid cakes. In preparation for the holiday, the Giza Governorate and the Cairo Governorate raised the degree of readiness in the Public Office and District Operations Rooms. They coordinated with various companies providing water, sewage, electricity, and gas to ensure that citizens’ needs would be met for the holiday. A distribution plan for public transport buses was created to cover all recreational areas that citizens visit during the Eid. Garden efficiency was also raised to receive visitors. Governor of Cairo, Major General Khaled Abdel-Al confirmed that necessary measures had been taken to provide food commodities to citizens during the holiday. All bakeries were set to operate at full capacity during the Eid days, and control measures had been tightened to ensure the production of bread that conforms to specifications. Executive bodies aimed to strengthen control over markets and public shops to control prices and prevent the exploitation and monopolization of goods.

Al-Arish Street in Giza witnessed great demand and crowded shops to buy Eid clothes Al-Mubarak, with the approaching Eid Al-Fitr, as the Al-Arish Street area is considered one of the most popular markets in Giza.

The “seventh day” monitored the crowding of clothing stores in conjunction with the approaching celebration of Eid Al-Fitr, and several commercial areas are witnessing a large turnout from citizens to buy Eid supplies “clothes – Eid cakes”, especially popular markets such as Ataba, Al-Wakalah, and the markets of Faisal, Bulaq, Al-Eshreen Street and Imbaba in Giza, and Abbas Al-Akkad Street. Nasr City and other areas in Cairo.
