Picard” sneak peek on the final season

Paramount+, the series runs exclusively there in the USA, has released a sneak peak of the third and final season of the series “Star Trek: Picard”. I myself found Season 1 unbearable following only a few episodes and always cite it, alongside Disney’s new “Star Wars” trilogy, as a prime example of how popular brands and characters can be completely dismantled. But my taste is not the center of the world and so there are certainly many viewers, including our readers, who are looking forward to Season 3.

In this country, the new season of “Star Trek: Picard” will probably be back at Amazon Prime Video be visible. Paramount+ is coming to us soon though, so we’ll see how that ends up being handled. This will probably depend on the specific license agreements. It would also be conceivable that all three seasons of the series migrate to Paramount +.

The new season will start in the USA on February 16, 2023. Also joining the party are Jonathan Frakes as Riker, LeVar Burton as Geordi, Michael Dorn as Worf and many more from the old TNG crew. But I’m afraid it’s going to be like Jean-Luc Picard himself: the actors are the same, the characters they embody have the same names, but they probably have completely different personalities. That’s not just how it was handled with Picard as a character, but also with Seven of Nine.

So I’m just sticking with my memories of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” – the series doesn’t get any worse with the newer format. How do you like Star Trek: Picard? Are you like me and are you completely put off or did you perhaps gain something from the series?
