PianoVision, the augmented reality application that helps you learn to play the piano

Have you always dreamed of learning to play the piano and would like to do it in a fun and immersive way? The PianoVision application, developed for virtual reality headsets, is made for you. Thanks to augmented reality, it helps you learn to play the piano, whether you have one at home or not.

In the 2000s, rock and guitar lovers were delighted to discover the game Guitar Hero, which allowed them to play the greatest rock hits on a guitar-shaped controller… In 2022, it’s no longer a controller but a virtual reality headset that will help you learn to play an instrument.

The PianoVision application, available since August 3, is already well talked about. The latter is presented as an aid and an “accelerator” in learning the piano. Available for download on the MetaQuest headset, the app uses both augmented reality and virtual reality to teach users how to play the piano, whether the user has a keyboard instrument or not.

Players can either play on an “air piano”, i.e. a completely virtual piano, to learn the notes and the positions of the hands, or use the application in parallel with a real piano or a keyboard that they already have. And this is where augmented reality takes over, since when your piano is connected (using a USB cable) to the application, it manages to detect your piano, your hands and superimposes it the images of the musical notes that you have to perform on the piano.
