The open world narrative “The Silent Swan” by developer studio Praenaris and publishers Gammer Nest should appear later this year. As is now known, there will be a physical edition of the indie game, at least for the PlayStation 5. Whether this also applies to the other platforms, i.e. PlayStation 4 and the PC, is not yet known.

Story
“The story follows Mirov Kavrazyma as he enters the lands beyond the walls to pursue Selene, his wife and only witness to the sinking, who has disappeared without a trace – apart from a series of four-winged paper swans. These swans contain writings she left behind , with the apparent intention of being found and pursued by Mirov.
Throughout the game, Mirov gradually moves closer to the bed of misfortune that has afflicted his home, aka the Fall, and draws closer to the truths he is desperate to unearth, while a strange uneasiness warns him that he had better go back .
The Silent Swan is the story of two cities: Urzhum and Sernur; of two conflicts: past and future; and by two people; Selene and Mirov.
gameplay
In terms of gameplay, The Silent Swan follows the open-world formula of exploring and collecting items, but with a narrative twist, as the letters and stories of those who went through the abandoned land are the items to be found, and the same Letters serve as a guide and tool to acquire more stories.
The massive overworld defined by the walls has sparsely located urban areas. These urban areas are all connected by land bridges – terrestrial bridges rising above the ground – which the player navigates on Quicycles.
The levels themselves are monolithic urban areas, with the particularity that every building, every floor, every corridor is fully walkable. This serves both a purely ecological and an artistic purpose, and is a tool that forces the player to read letters and dialogues that lead the way.
