The energy officers of the federal states met with Climate Protection Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) in Styria on Friday to prepare further measures once morest possible energy shortages. Provincial Councilor Daniel Zadra took part in the conference for Vorarlberg. According to Zadra, a whole series of decisions have been made. It is particularly important to redesign the funding for small photovoltaic systems up to 20 kilowatts peak. Many who applied for funding would complain that the hurdles were too high and the deadlines too tight.
The representatives of the federal states are therefore calling for a new, adequately budgeted support programme. A second important point: low-income households in apartment buildings should also be supported in switching to renewable energy. So far, this has only been possible for one- and two-family houses.
Energy: Kogler announces tax on random winnings
From 2023, extreme profits made by energy companies due to the crisis are to be taxed. Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) announced this on Saturday on Ö1. “Something will go on there, I dare to announce that now.” By the beginning of next year, he wants to decide on a model that may then also apply retrospectively to 2022. The aim is to see “where the journey is going” by the end of the year. The ÖVP has recently shown reluctance on this issue – more on this in news.ORF.at.
