Photovoltaic Energy Offset System installed on the roof of its central facilities at Akadimias 7, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Athens.
As noted in an EBEA announcement, this is regarding movement of high symbolismas the investment shows the chamber’s support for sustainable development and environmental protection.
The photovoltaic system has a power of 19.8kWp and will cover a significant part of EBEA’s energy needs, having an annual production of more than 30,000 kWh of green energy and will significantly reduce the cost of the electricity it consumes.
Furthermore, the announcement states that the implementation of net metering allows businesses to channel excess energy back into the grid, promoting a more sustainable and efficient energy and “green” ecosystem. This is something that not only helps individual businesses, but collectively contributes to a greener environment by significantly reducing carbon dioxide emissions. In addition, the installation of photovoltaic panels enhances the development of the renewable energy sector, creating employment opportunities and promoting innovation.
AENAOS Energy Systems was chosen as the contractor for the project, which undertook the licensing, supply and construction of the system.
The president of EBEA, Sofia Kounenaki Efraimoglou, stated that “EBEA is at the forefront of energy transformation. As the installation of photovoltaic panels in businesses is of the utmost importance, contributing significantly to both the economy and our society. Businesses that adopt solar energy not only reduce their dependence on conventional energy sources, but are also able to reduce their operating costs, ensuring greater competitiveness.”
EBEA manufacturing board member Christos Michalos said: “installing solar panels improves air quality, creating a healthier living environment, thus highlighting how sustainable practices at a business level can have far-reaching benefits for our society”.
