There has been a lot of discussion about the new annual series The Weapons and the dating show My Mother, Your Father during the launch of TVA’s fall programming on Monday. These two major additions enhance the lineup of the most-watched channel in Quebec.
Produced by Fabienne Larouche and Michel Trudeau, the new series The Weapons will allow viewers to explore the military world, which few are familiar with. Vincent-Guillaume Otis, Eve Landry, and François Papineau drive the intrigue in this suspense thriller, set to begin on Monday, September 9, at 8 PM.

The Weapons is one of eight dramas offered by TVA this season. No other network offers as many. The channel is also bringing back its successful series Alert, Indefensible—a poignant scene featuring Léo (Sébastien Delorme) and André (Michel Laperrière) following the death of two colleagues was emotional—and Witches. The latter is now aired on Tuesdays at 8 PM.

Additionally, productions from Club illico will be aired in the second window, such as The Raspberry Season, which has an even better second season than the first, and The Pearls, which tells the story of a talented single mother played by Bianca Gervais.
Also coming from the Videotron platform is the touching series About Antoine, featuring Claude Legault, Cathleen Rouleau, and Micheline Bernard. This series focuses on a blended family that includes a disabled teenager.

Finally, Club illico, which will become illico+ on October 23 after merging with the Vrai platform, will share The Rebels with TVA viewers. This drama features two young adults passionate about social justice, played by Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse and Pier-Luc Funk.
Introducing My Mother, Your Father with Nathalie Simard
The other major new addition for the fall is undoubtedly the dating show My Mother, Your Father, gently hosted by Nathalie Simard. Women and men aged 40 to 60 attempt to find love while unaware that one of their adult children observes their every move and influences their journey.

While waiting for the return of Star Academy next winter, which will now be hosted by Jean-Philippe Dion with Garou as director, and Get Me Out of Here!, featuring Guy Jodoin and Rosalie Vaillancourt as hosting duo, TVA will focus this fall on its highly popular Sunday nights with reliable hits like The Masked Singers, Canada’s number one show, now hosted by Sébastien Benoit, and Revolution – The Stars, which will reunite the best dancers from the previous five seasons.

MasterChef Quebec will return in September for its second season, which promises an even stronger cohort, according to chefs Stefano Faita and Martin Picard. The format will introduce a new immunity pin to spice things up. Speaking of MasterChef, a junior version is set to premiere in 2025, immediately following the daily broadcast of Star Academy, as announced during the programming launch.
A new comedy: Come to the Funeral Home
Next year, TVA took the opportunity during the event to unveil a new comedy titled Come to the Funeral Home, conceived by Jean-Michel Anctil and Louis-Philippe Dandenault. The two friends will portray two very different brothers who operate a funeral home. Jean-Carl Boucher will be the director.
