A man suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning when he hit a lamppost head-on in the borough of Saint-Léonard, in Montreal.
The accident occurred shortly following 5 a.m. at the corner of boulevard Robert and rue Viau.

The driver, a 26-year-old man, suffered serious injuries that initially raised fears for his life. His condition stabilized during the morning, however, said Agent Gabriella Youakim, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service.
