Many sneered at those who spread Jimmy’s picture at the crash site.
In response, Jimmy’s family said that they were not upset with the people who spread the photos because they were the ones who saved him (Jimmy Lin and his son).
According to reports, Jimmy’s mother has asked the star’s manager to find the people who saved him so he can personally thank them.
It turned out that the first person to help pull Jimmy out of the car was Wu Ming Zhi, a photographer who previously worked at the Taiwanese cable network Sanlih E-Television.
He also refused the offer to meet Jimmy Lin’s family.
“It’s nothing. Just focus on the two victims,” he said.
Whereas he was previously criticized by netizens for trying to take credit when he left a comment on Facebook saying: “I was the one who saved (Jimmy).”
After the collision, construction workers and other people around him immediately tried to save him. They pulled Lin and her six-year-old son from the car, the vehicle was crushed and engulfed in flames in the video that went viral.
According to eyewitnesses, the electric vehicle caught fire regarding five minutes following Lin and his son were rescued.
Lin’s agency said in a press statement that Lin thanked those who had helped him and his son at the scene as well as staff at the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, where they were both being treated.
