Liepaja, a vibrant Latvian coastal city, is marking its 400th anniversary with a special exhibition showcasing its rich history. From January 24th, 2025, until March 2nd, 2025, the liepaja Museum will host “For the Beautiful Liepaja – 400,” a captivating display of 80 photographs spanning from the late 19th century to the end of Latvia’s first period of independence.
Curated from a treasure trove of albums,romantic postcards,and collector’s items,these specially selected,processed,and enlarged images offer a unique glimpse into Liepaja’s past. Visitors will have the opportunity to compare past images with the city’s present-day landscape,creating a fascinating dialog between yesterday and today.
Adding another layer to the experience, the exhibition will also feature historic videos, further immersing visitors in Liepaja’s evolution.
