Phone charger, sold for more than two years, recalled due to electrocution risk

A simple phone charger might be the cause of serious accidents. Since this Tuesday, France Production Électronique has been recalling one of its USB charger models, distributed throughout France, according to Consumption reminder.

This is the following reference: 001625. The lots concerned are: 001625-0121-XXXX, 001625-0421-XXXX, 001625-0521-XXXX, 001625-0822-XXXX, 001625-0222-XXXX, 001625-1222- XXXX, 001625-0423-XXXX. The model concerned, a 5V/1A USB charger for smartphones, was sold between April 2, 2021 and September 15, 2023. It was distributed by Mr Bricolage, Briconautes, Bricorama, Cofaq, Intermarché and Leclerc.

Risk of electric shock “

“The power plug conductors are not secure enough. In the event of detachment, the leakage distance between the active parts of the conductors and the accessible parts is less than the prescribed value of 4.8 mm (3.9 mm measured),” indicates Rappel Conso, which recommends no longer using this product due to the risk of “electric shock”.
