Phoebe Philo presents new pieces on her e-shop

Phoebe Philo returns to the spotlight following the resounding success of the launch of her first collection. On October 30, the British designer made her comeback with fanfare following almost six years of absence, unveiling the first creations from the new house that bears her name. It announces the arrival on November 28 of a new series of pieces on its e-commerce site, once once more arousing feverish anticipation from fashionistas.

Even if the house has not communicated on the number of products available for each model, judging by the speed with which the pieces disappeared from the e-shop during the first launch, success should be there once more. YOU. And this despite particularly high prices.

Phoebe Philo hit the nail on the head with desirable accessories, like the MUM necklaces that snapped, and ready-to-wear pieces that were powerful, yet still wearable. Not to mention that her clothes with a minimalist style and contemporary design made from luxurious materials ride the current trend of discreet luxury, the stylist focusing on timeless clothes, bags, shoes and accessories (glasses, jewelry).

Within a few hours, three quarters of the parts were already out of stock. To date, three weeks later, there are only around ten products available on its site out of just over a hundred originally offered. For example, glasses at 580 euros, a dahlia-shaped brooch in white organza 100% polyester, made in Madagascar, at 850 euros, stiletto heel ankle boots at 1,400 euros, but also much more expensive pieces, such as this dress in viscose knit covered in sequins sold at 14,000 euros or this fully fringed leather jacket offered at 8,900 euros.

Phoebe Philo has banned the terms season and collection from her vocabulary. She prefers to talk regarding editions. The first, called A1, is made up of 150 models, around a hundred of which were marketed at the end of October. At the end of November, a new, smaller selection should arrive on its e-shop. It will be followed by a third and final delivery in the coming months. The second edition, A2, is planned for spring.

The house, supported by LVMH, which holds a minority stake, has adopted a sustainable commercial approach by distributing a limited number of products exclusively on its e-commerce. At its launch, the company explained that it wanted to focus “on the material issues of overconsumption, waste and the fashion supply chain. Phoebe Philo’s business model is designed to create a responsible balance between production and demand. For us, this means producing significantly less than what is expected of us.” And further stimulate the desirability of its offer.
