Phillip Danault scored his 26th goal (and doubled his previous record)

A few years ago, Phillip Danault asked for power play time. In his last years in Montreal, he often asked for more offensive responsibilities.

Upon signing in Los Angeles, he claimed he did so because he was promised more opportunities to produce offensively. Clearly, it was a priority for him on the sidelines of his new contract.

And since he arrived in Los Angeles, he has lived up to expectations.

In addition to being the center responsible defensively that we know, he really began to fill the net like he had never done before. He is down to 26 goals since the start of the season.

He has scored in his last five games.

But above all, when we look at his career figures, we realize that twice, he had scored 13 goals, but no more. There, he has just doubled his best production in a single season.

He probably would have done better in 2019-20 with 11 more games (games canceled due to COVID-19), but he wouldn’t have gone from 13 to 26. He’s dominant like never before.

And it’s not joking when I say like never. Even in junior, Victoriaville and Moncton, he never scored 26 goals in a season. He has two 23-goal campaigns.

And even if there are a few fewer games in the Q, we are still talking regarding a significant increase at the NHL level. When you look at the player he has always been, his 26 goals in Los Angeles represent an exceptional increase.

I would like to draw a conclusion on the Canadian, the fact that he was there, that the money was given to Brendan Gallagher instead and making connections with the fact that he is Quebecois, but you know the refrain .

A lot of

– I really like the idea.

– It would be good.

– Hockey greats honor Guy Lafleur.

– Beau message.

– If he scores tonight, it will be magic.

– Clearly.

– Words that break your heart.

– So sad in hindsight.
