Philippe Vigier (Ensemble) turns well ahead of Virginia de Oliveira (RN) in the 4th district of Eure-et-Loir (Châteaudun)

The outgoing deputy Philippe Vigier (Together! Majority presidential), who is seeking a fourth and final term, came clearly ahead in the first round of the legislative elections this Sunday, June 12, 2022 with 42.66% of the votes in the fourth constituency of Eure -et-Loir.

He relaunched himself in the battle for the legislative elections with always the same “passion for action” and the voters once once more trusted him by placing him first in 145 out of 149 municipalities.

Nupes and Together! in the duel, voting instructions, reactions… Relive the election evening of the first round of the legislative elections

“Very happy” with his score, almost identical to that of the first round of the 2017 legislative elections (42.72%) but with a lower participation (49.9% once morest 53.51% in 2017), Philippe Vigier will face, for the first time, the RN in the second round. The candidate Virginia de Oliveira, who is running for the first time and who has few local roots, managed to collect 24.51% of the vote, eight points more than her counterpart, Vincent Collo, in 2017.

The left-wing Nupes alliance did not bear fruit. Candidate Mathieu Gaston came second in Châteaudun and Bonneval but did not reach 16% in the constituency.

No “alternative” or “unifier of the right” in the first position

Philippe Vigier also found himself, for the first time since 2002 and his defeat once morest Alain Venot (UMP), with the traditional right facing him. But regional councilor Elisabeth Meyblum (LR), supported by Fabien Verdier, mayor of Châteaudun, totaled barely 8% of the vote and did not convince voters as a potential “alternative”.

Vincent Lhopiteau, mayor of Villampuy under the banner of Éric Zemmour’s party, Reconquête!, who saw himself as a “unifier of the right”, was no luckier. He comes in fifth position, with two points less than the LR candidate, and was overtaken by the National Rally by one vote in his own commune.
