Former NFL quarterback Philip Rivers and his wife are expecting their 10th child.
The 41-year-old made the announcement this week, revealing the couple are expecting a boy.
“We’re all very excited,” he told AL.com. Everyone wanted a boy. Even our daughters wanted a boy.”
Rivers also indicated that his mother and father came from families with nine children and that he thought it would be the same for his own clan.
“God has decided otherwise,” he said.
Rivers’ first nine children are currently aged four to 21.
The pivot played 16 seasons with the San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers and one campaign with the Indianapolis Colts. He retired at the end of the 2020 season and now serves as the head coach of a Catholic high school team in Alabama.
