Philip Morris Egypt announced, in a statement today, Wednesday, that it has officially increased the prices of a number of its cigarette products in the market, which include Merritt, Marlboro and L&M brands, as well as “HEETS Selections” heated tobacco, as of Thursday.
The value of the increase ranges between 3 and 5 pounds per pack of traditional cigarettes, according to Ibrahim Imbaby, head of the smoke division in the Chamber of Food Industries of the Federation of Industries, to Masrawy.
Ali Karman, General Manager, Philip Morris Egypt & Levant, said: “This price increase is a necessity to continue to ensure our ability to provide smokers and adult nicotine users in Egypt with the high-quality products they are looking for.”
The new prices for these types of cigarettes and heated tobacco for the consumer following the increase and comparison with before the increase will be as follows:
– The price of a Marlboro package of all kinds: 59 pounds compared to 54 pounds.
– The price of a Marlboro Crafted package of all kinds: 49 pounds compared to 44 pounds.
– The price of an L&M package of all kinds: 42 pounds compared to 39 pounds.
– The price of HEETS Selections of all kinds of heated tobacco: 50 pounds compared to 48 pounds.
– The price of HEETS Dimensions of all kinds of heated tobacco is 50 pounds (without change).
Philip Morris Egypt affirmed its commitment to increase the market’s needs for all its products, through retailers and distributors, according to official prices.
The company also appeals to all merchants to adhere to the price lists issued and approved by the company, according to the statement.
The company stated in the statement that the prices of all its products are announced transparently through the “QR Code”, which was applied to the packages of traditional cigarettes and packages of heated tobacco rolls.
The company calls on the adult consumer to scan this code to see the official price of the product, as well as to view the price list of Philip Morris products in Egypt, according to the statement.
Philip Morris Egypt confirmed that, in accordance with the principle of transparency, the company will announce any additional adjustment to the prices of its products in order to protect the consumer from illegal practices and to support the state in its efforts to control the markets, according to the statement.
