The MEP Phidias Panagiotou who comes from Cyprus is the first Youtuber who got involved in politics and who revealed the amount he receives monthly from the platform.
Invited to Alexandros Kopsialis’ show “Private Outcry” on Youtube, the 24-year-old MEP from Cyprus talked regarding the monthly salary he received as a “big channel” on the video production platform. Phidias Panagiotou revealed the astronomical amount he has received as a Youtuber.
“I don’t talk regarding the money to be proud, but the purpose is to show the young people that it is a job that can be done and has a lot of money. I feel like I have to say how much I make. We make approximately 50,000 euros per month,” revealed Phidias.
As for the sponsors on his channel: “The above money is from the sponsors who come to a twenty-minute video we make on our channel. “A sponsor has given us 36,000 euros to enter two minutes in a twenty-minute video,” said Phidias.
“Does the sponsor get this money back?”, asked Alexandros Kopsialis, and then Phidias replied: “It seems like a joke to me, to tell you the truth.”
Phidias Panagiotou was elected third as MEP in the 2024 European elections held last June. He is the first Youtuber-Influencer to run as an independent candidate and succeed in entering the European Parliament.
