Two 48-volt mild hybrid drives are now available – with a system output of 74 kW (100 hp) and 100 kW (136 hp).
The heart of the electrified drive is a six-speed dual-clutch transmission in which an electric motor is integrated. There is also a small battery that is installed under the left front seat. The power surge helps with acceleration (additional torque) and saving fuel. According to Peugeot, the mild hybrid drive saves up to 15 percent fuel compared to a comparable gasoline engine. Very short distances can also be driven purely electrically, for example when maneuvering or parking in/out.
The Peugeot 208 Hybrid is available now – with a list price starting at 24,890 euros.
