Not the good boy anymore.
Dmitry Barkov became famous throughout the USSR while still a schoolboy. He played Vasya Petrov in the legendary film “The Adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin, ordinary and incredible” and in its sequel.
Barkov, contrary to the expectations of fans, did not become a popular actor. After the triumph in the children’s film, Dmitry did not receive invitations from the directors and lived the life of an ordinary schoolboy. Nevertheless, Barkov later appeared in several Russian TV series, including Streets of Broken Lanterns and Cop Wars. However, his episodic roles can be called an exception.
Dmitry studied as an economist and became an entrepreneur. His business was related to cars, but his acting past still haunted him. Barkov opened a children’s film school, fulfilling his old dream.
Today, in the 51-year-old on-screen Petrov, one cannot recognize that cute big-eyed boy. Dmitry got better, got gray hair and wrinkles. Barkov can easily pass for a 60-year-old uncle.
