A “clear” and “direct” rejection of the possible constraint on the voter by illegal actors was expressed this Sunday by the campaign of the presidential candidate of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro.
The position was established by head of political debate for Petro’s candidacy, Alfonso Pradawho stated that in this campaign “we do not accept the support of criminal gangs and, on the contrary, the only thing we accept is that they submit to justice, disarm and stop the violence.”

“Ours, in the campaign of Gustavo Petro and Francia Márquezit is peace, it is the path of harmony, of security and, naturally, to ensure that these gangs are brought to justice and to cease one of the most serious sources of violence that the country has today”, Prada affirmed categorically. .
The pronouncement was made hours following EL TIEMPO revealed some audios that are part of an investigation of State organisms for a possible constraint to the voter in favor of Petro by Wilmer Antonio Giraldo, alias Siopas, one of the heirs of the capo ‘Otoniel’ in the Clan del Golfo.
In the interceptions, Siopas’s mother is heard talking to two of her children and an unknown woman and telling them that the strong man of the Clan del Golfo had sent the reason that they had to vote for Petro, because that would benefit him.

Giraldo’s mother says that for this, the issue of registering identification cards to pay for Petro must be reviewed, as requested by ‘Siopas’.
The investigation tries to establish if these pressures go beyond the family of one of the possible heirs of ‘Otoniel’ and whether it would be extended to residents of the municipalities of Antioquia and Chocó, the area of influence of the illegal armed actor.
What is clear is that, so far, the investigation has not shown any kind of relationship between the historic pact campaign and the possible constraint that alias Siopas would be trying to perform.
