Former presidential candidate Sergio Fajardo referred to the reflection that President Gustavo Petro made in the last few hours in which he acknowledged that he has not addressed the lack of aqueduct in Quibdó in the middle of his government.
“Poor President Petro. After a year and a half of having the power of the government, he realized that Quibdó does not have an aqueduct,” said the former presidential candidate.
“He is deeply outraged at the inability of his own government: he can’t believe it! Of course, he, the top leader, does not respond, it is the fault of the middle managers. Meanwhile, the responsible minister suffers the rigors of the heat and cools off with her fan, while the poor president receives applause from considerate and enthusiastic citizens. Magical Realism,” added Fajardo.

The criticism arises following President Gustavo Petro recognized that he has not attended to the needs of Chocó. “If Quibdó is the poorest capital in Colombia, if its majority population is black, if we said that we were going to build social equality as far as we can, how come our government has not taken over the Quibdó aqueduct?” Petro acknowledged from that place.

Likewise, he said that he cannot wait until his government ends. “The truth is I’m not knowing myself. It can’t be, it’s the first thing on the first day of entering a ministerial office, the first thing you had to ask is that. Where are the poor people’s aqueducts because it is water?” Petro questioned.
Recently, Fajardo has sharpened his criticism once morest Petro. He also questioned it because the president blamed local mayors for not preparing to respond to emergencies derived from the El Niño phenomenon, including the fires that have been recorded in the country.
“Poor Messiah Petro. Surrounded by inept people on all sides. Nobody serves him. Everything is up to him alone. If he continues like this, he will need 2026, 2030… Poor thing, it’s very hard for him,” Fajardo assured in an ironic tone.

The message that Petro sent and that raised so much controversy was: “Outgoing and incoming mayors were warned of the seriousness of the phenomenon of the child that Ideam highlighted. The prediction has been almost exact. In reality, the municipalities, which are mostly incapable of making planning plans and projects, also do not have the capacity to generate their own climate risk mitigation plans. Which means that the nation must take on this role. “Risk management prepares before any climate tragedy and tries to avoid death before anything else.”
That message was widely criticized from different sectors, since some considered that Petro was evading his responsibility. Furthermore, because it was evident that the Government would not have been prepared to deal with the El Niño phenomenon and the havoc it caused. For example, the budget of the National Fire Department, among others, was reduced for this year.
For his part, Fajardo has criticized Petro on several occasions for his management. At another time he also questioned it because supposedly they would not let him govern. “President Petro, our messiah, in the conclave expressed his annoyance, it is very hard for him: the powerful of the establishment do not let him govern, the state officials, Uribistas, are useless and his teams of ministers are inept, they cannot achieve what he orders. Poor,” Fajardo said at the end of last year.
