President Gustavo Petro is still in Medellín. The president has been in the capital of Antioquia since Wednesday, November 30, when he traveled to the city to participate in an event to forgive the victims of the conflict at the House of Memory.
That day Petro had scheduled to return to Bogotá for a dinner with the magistrates of the high courts that was scheduled for 6 in the followingnoon at the Casa de Nariño, but left the togados waiting to stay in a meeting regarding the Hidroituango project with the mayor, Daniel Quintero.
Since then, the president has not had a public agenda. On Thursday night he confirmed that once more he is sickthis time with a flu picture in which covid-19 has already been ruled out.
“A virus has kept me in bed today. covid has been ruled out. I hope to recover,” confirmed the president on his Twitter account.
For this Friday the Presidency has not sent Petro’s official agenda, but the president has spoken on several occasions on social networks.
One of his first messages was the appointment of Olga Lucía Acosta as co-director of the Banco de la Repúblicareplacing the former Minister of Finance Alberto Carrasquilla, who left the organization because it did not comply with the norm of gender parity.
The president also confirmed the rescue of the child Erick Matías Manosalvathe one-year-old little boy who had been kidnapped two days ago in Cesar.
Since assuming the Presidency on August 7, Petro has repeatedly reported health problems. In addition to the flu and the constant cough that has afflicted him during this time, he also once indicated that he had an intestinal problem.
The opposition has called for clarity on the president’s state of health. From the Palace, the Minister of the Interior, Alfonso Prada, attributed his colds to changes in weather due to his tours of the country.
