Vladimír Dlouhý is not the only actor who died prematurely (52 years old). In the film, Zuzana Drízhalová also played a woman who committed suicide. The role of young Jane was the last film project of this young actress. After that, she only appeared in a few series and succumbed to cancer at the age of 36.

In the film, Petra Jungmanová played the sister of a young woman who committed suicide. Vladimír Dlouhý was a policeman who investigated a murder, and in the investigation he came across an interesting clue that led him to a character with whose representative he eventually connected his life.

Actress Petra Jungmanová remembers the filming very fondly. It was her first big experience in a television project. She had tried for several roles before, but it never worked out and she was very shy at camera tests. The director Němcová chose her because she recently lost her sister, who killed herself while flying with a motor scooter, so she assumed that she would be able to put her feelings into this character as well.

She did not know Vladimír Dlouhy before filming, but she had heard that it was said regarding him that he might be unpleasant and inexperienced actors were a little afraid of him. And so the young Jungman, who liked her colleague, decided to go to him for advice on how to approach the role, thereby avoiding any inconvenience during filming. I guess she made a good move because not only was he welcoming and pleasant during filming, but their paths crossed in their personal lives as well.

However, it was not an easy coexistence. Vladimír Dlouhý had great problems in his youth caused by stomach ulcers. When the pains came back following twelve years, Dlouhý once more attributed it to ulcers. Only the second round of all sorts of examinations following the collapse in 2009 revealed the cause, and it was bad.

In addition, Vladimír Dlouhý was very close to alcohol at that time, which he apparently used to suppress his fear of the future, and so stays in the hospital were unbearable for him. He decided to enjoy the measured time in his own way, and even his wife was unable to influence his approach to solving the problem in any way. She knew that she would do everything her way anyway. Even the twins, who were not even four years old, did not motivate him in any way to try to fight the disease and delay his departure.

The day the sun didn’t rise

The viewer is faced with a murder, and then a seemingly unrelated suicide, which has not yet made sense, becomes entangled in the story. Retrospectively, the viewer learns regarding the connections and the tension in the story increases. The investigation of the murder and suicide of two people is investigated by an experienced police officer, Pavel Vondra, who meets Jana, the sister of the suicide. But she does not believe that the nurse would have decided to take her own life on a whim, and wants to clarify the incident.

The film is broadcast on July 16 on CT evening.
