The statement by former Peterpan keyboardist, Andika, regarding his separation from Peterpan was widely responded to by fans and netizens. Including his former bandmate, Uki Kautsar, who openly denied this.
Uki, who is also now a former member of Peterpan and NOAH after deciding to emigrate, spoke up. On Instagram, Uki wrote a long rebuttal regarding Andika’s previous statement, which said he had been expelled.
Uki firmly stated that he was the one who asked for it and was also the reason why the separation between Andika and Indra occurred. Uki also admitted that the reason behind it all was that there was no longer any match in terms of musicality.
Also openly, Uki stated that their intention was not to expel Andika and Indra, but rather the four of them, Uki, Ariel, Lukman and Reza, who resigned from Peterpan. He wrote this in the comments column uploaded @andika.naliputra.
“Please note, it wasn’t Andika & Indra who were expelled, the initial intention was me, Ariel and followed by Lukman and Reza who wanted to resign from Peterpan.”
“When I entered the Bright Day album, I, personally, felt that it was not suitable to collaborate in music, I felt that contributing to composing the music was not good, it had nothing to do with friendship, it was purely work.”
“On the third album, I have started filling in the keyboard, because Andika is often confused about filling in keyboard parts, you can ask other personnel please,” wrote Uki, as quoted by detikcom, Sunday (8/10/2023).
Uki further asked Andika to stop saying that he and Indra were expelled. In fact, according to Uki, Andika and Indra refused to take responsibility for carrying the Peterpan flag. Uki also stated that if anyone was responsible for this separation, he was the one to blame, not Ariel.
“So stop blaming Ariel. If you want to be upset, why are we separating, the upset is the same, because that was my initial idea. We are closing an old chapter in our life in the past. Hopefully Andika can be sincere and understand now,” concluded Uki.
Not only Uki, Ariel also responded to Andika’s upload. The difference is, the vocalist is more relaxed and joking.
“Aya aya wae maneh gong, we’ll clean it up later, I want to wait first @circusconcerto, sorry for missing the promo,” wrote @arielnoah. The article immediately responded with almost 5,000 likes.
