The Ministry of the Interior promoted to the rank of general of the National Police to 20 colonels of arms and 2 of services for the class of 2023. The positions will take effect from January 1, 2023.
resolutions were published this Monday 31 in the official newspaper El Peruano and bear the signature of president peter castle and of interior minister, Willy Huerta Olivas.
The proposal for promotion to highest rank of the National Police was in charge of the Selection Board, directed by the general commander of the PNP, lieutenant general Raul Alfaro Alvarado.
One of the objectives is to promote a new generation of general officers to strengthen the institutional framework, which is why 8 colonels who belong to the PNP6 from the former Civil Guard (former GC) or code 1, 5 from the former Investigative Police (former PIP) or code 2, and one from the former Republican Guard (former GR) or code 3. Also, 2 general services, a doctor and a lawyer.
Among the colonels who reached the rank of general are the head of the Vehicle Theft Investigation Division, Jose Zavala Chumbiaca; the head of the Green Squad, David Villanueva; the head of the Emergency Squad, Javier Vela Arangoitia; the head of the Directorate of Highways, Ghino Malaspina Del Castillothe head of the Economic and Monetary Crimes Division of the Fiscal Police, Carlos Valer Cruces and the head of the Directorate for International Affairs, Anthony Cortijo Salinas.
Also on the list are Raúl Silva Olivera, Nilton Santos Villalta, Wilson Sánchez Sánchez, Mauriico Quiroga Camacho, Samuel Peralta Campos Julio Mariño Ripa, Edgar Horna Moreno, Edison Hernández Moreno, Javier Gonzales Novoa, Enrique Felipe Monroy, Richard Cano Pérez, Benito Cabrera Quispe and Marlon Anticona Julca. Likewise, service colonels Juan Serrano Herrera and Moisés Rojas Arcos.
It is noteworthy that the Selection Board has not proposed colonels working in specialized unitssuch as the Criminal Investigation Directorate (Dirincri), the Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro), the Money Laundering Investigation Directorate (Dirila) and the Counter-Terrorism Directorate (Dircote).
