The revelation of More than 40 unreported admissions to the Government Palace of Fray Vásquez and Gian Marco Castillo, the now fugitive nephews of President Pedro Castillo, reinforces the fiscal hypothesis regarding the existence of an alleged criminal network linked to the government. This was pointed out by criminals consulted by El Comercio.
The existence of an alleged mafia of this type is the line of investigation with which the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the Money Laundering Prosecutor’s Office work, which They have submitted reports in this regard to the National Prosecutor, Pablo Sánchez.
MIRA: Palacio hid 43 visits from Pedro Castillo’s nephews from the prosecution
The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office works with the hypothesis that Castillo would be in the lead of this alleged criminal organization with his nephews as members; while from the Money Laundering Prosecutor’s Office it is considered that the president should be directly investigateda decision that only Pablo Sánchez might make.

The criminal Percy García Cavero commented that, on the one hand, there are the administrative responsibilities for not comply with the transparency law, while, on the other hand, there are possible criminal responsibilities. Regarding these, he indicated that inserting false or incomplete information in public records might be configured as ideological falsehood attributable to Government Palace officials.
Along these lines, he considered that the investigation of this crime would be useful for prosecutors who are already investigating an alleged criminal organization and might be included in the crimes that they are already investigating, which “would seem reasonable because it would show that there is a special relationshipteam play, distribution of functions, between the president himself and his nephews”.
With this, he said, it would be “rounding off the theory that there is an organization, which had an operational and legal protection arm, because what it did is eliminate the vestiges so that they and their crimes are not discovered.”

More clues
Lawyer Andy Carrión believed that the fact might lead to opening lines of investigation for crimes such as obstruction of justice and ideological falsehood.
However, he also pointed out that this new information “would strengthen the prosecution’s hypothesis that they [los sobrinos de Castillo] coordinated with the president and senior officials”. “If they want to argue that they are relatives and that is why they were visiting the president, why hide that information?” she said.
Carrión added that the hidden visits “would be interesting clues to link Palacio […]. Especially since the president is there. These coordinations are important in order to legitimize and justify the scope of the criminal organization and the membership of the president.”
Lawyer Franco García Lazo agreed with his colleagues, particularly because in the types of crimes perpetrated by a group of people “the way to commit them is precisely by hiding documents so that the criminal classification is closed.”
“The omission of important information is relevant. By the very thesis of the prosecution, of a criminal organization, to hide that these relatives of the president have entered to Palacio does not mean more than a concealment of the truth and a disturbance to the test”, declared García Lazo.
