Pete Davidson Finds peace After Stepping Back from the Spotlight
Comedian Pete Davidson, known for his eight-season run on “Saturday Night Live”,has found serenity after taking a hiatus from Hollywood. At 31, he’s embraced a new role as the creative director for sock brand Doublesoul, signaling a shift in his priorities.
Davidson’s decision to step back was influenced by the intense media scrutiny he faced following high-profile relationships with celebrities like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian. “Luckily, I got hit on the face with the Hollywood shovel,” he candidly told W Magazine. “It was a long time coming, and I needed it. I’m very happy where I am right now, mentally.”
The comedian yearns to be recognized for his work rather than his personal life. He aspires to make a positive impact through film, stand-up comedy, charitable endeavors, or business ventures. “That’s when I want to be seen,” Davidson shared. “I don’t want to be this fucking loser who just dates people. That’s not who I am.”
Reflecting on his career trajectory, Davidson acknowledges feeling pressured to accept every opportunity in his early years. over time, he’s gained wisdom and learned to prioritize his well-being. “The media takes a handful of celebs every couple of years, and they just destroy them,” Davidson observed. “For some reason, I’m one of the people they chose to go after. It’s actually, in a way, a blessing, because it allowed me to take a step back and evaluate things. What do you want to be? Who are you? I’m someone who is from Staten Island, wanted to do stand-up, and if I got to do anything else because of stand-up, it was a miracle.”
Recently, Davidson cancelled a series of stand-up shows scheduled for July and sought care at a wellness facility.
