A dedicated pet owner from Denmark was hoping for a peaceful work-from-home experience, but her beloved dog and cat had entirely different ideas that turned her day upside down.
In a viral video shared on TikTok in October by user @lillelangis, the poster, Anne Sophie Lange, is seen intently focused on her laptop, attempting to complete her tasks. However, her affectionate golden retriever, Lili, decides enough is enough and insists on distracting her for some much-needed cuddles.
Meanwhile, casually lounging on the opposite side of the laptop, Anne’s mischievous orange cat, Fox, supports her sister’s mission, eager to join in the fun and draw their owner away from work to engage in playful activities with them.
As the captivating scene unfolds, a caption humorously reads, “POV: Working from home,” perfectly capturing the essence of many pet owners’ experiences amidst their daily grind.
Recent studies affirm that pets are not just companions for food and shelter; they genuinely love their humans and often form special bonds that go beyond the basics. Surprisingly, pets often develop favorite humans who may not be the ones who care for them around the clock.
If your pet cherishes you, it’s common for them to stick close by, just like Lili and Fox, wagging their tails excitedly upon your arrival, nudging against you affectionately, and emitting relaxed demeanors when you’re near.
According to the Human Animal Bond Research Institute (HABRI), approximately 98 percent of pet owners worldwide have reported that they enjoy various health benefits attributed to having a pet.
About 87 percent of pet owners have noted improvements in their mental and physical well-being, experiencing greater happiness, a reduction in feelings of loneliness, and lower stress levels.
Additionally, an overwhelming 95 percent of pet owners consider their furry friends as integral members of their families, and an impressive 92 percent affirm that no circumstance would persuade them to part with their pets.
The heartwarming video quickly captured the attention of social media users, amassing over 9 million views and 2.1 million likes.
One amused viewer, MsK Lovely, humorously remarked: “Dog looks worried that you work too much, while the cat makes sure you work hard to pay those bills.”
Another user, B.a.m.b.z, chimed in: “How’s life with a golden retriever AND an orange cat? If this ain’t goals, idk what is.”
Alex on a budget added in jest: “I’m cancelling every meeting.”
Ounlyani concluded with a chuckle: “The only acceptable type of micromanaging.”

**Interview with Anne Sophie Lange: A Work-from-Home Adventure with Pets**
**Editor:** Today, we’re joined by Anne Sophie Lange, a dedicated pet owner from Denmark, who recently went viral on TikTok for her amusing work-from-home experience involving her two pets. Welcome, Anne! Can you tell us a bit about what happened during your workday?
**Anne Sophie:** Thank you for having me! Well, I was trying to have a productive day working from home, totally focused on my tasks when my golden retriever, Lili, decided it was cuddle time. She wouldn’t stop nudging me, and just when I thought I could manage to ignore her, my orange cat, Fox, joined in the fun by lounging right by my laptop and meowing for attention. It turned into quite the distraction!
**Editor:** It sounds like a challenging yet charming situation! Your video really resonated with many pet owners. What do you think it is about pets and working from home that makes this experience so relatable?
**Anne Sophie:** I think it’s the bond we share with our pets. They don’t understand that I have work to do—they just know I’m home and they want my attention. Pets have a way of reminding us to take breaks and enjoy the little moments, even when we’re busy. I believe many people can relate because it’s a struggle to balance work and the love and affection our pets give us.
**Editor:** That’s a great perspective! Research suggests that pets really do have their favorite humans. Have you noticed any particular behaviors that indicate Lili and Fox feel especially close to you?
**Anne Sophie:** Absolutely! Lili is always by my side when I’m home; she greets me with such excitement when I walk in, and Fox has a unique way of curling up on my keyboard when he wants to be noticed. These little gestures show their affection, and it’s what makes my days brighter, even if it disrupts my work. Honestly, I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything.
**Editor:** That’s touching to hear. Given the challenges of working from home with pets, what advice would you give to other pet owners in similar situations?
**Anne Sophie:** I’d say embrace the chaos! Pets bring so much joy and comfort into our lives. It’s important to take those breaks and enjoy their company. Try to incorporate short walks or play sessions in between work tasks. It’ll help with your productivity in the long run and strengthen your bond too!
**Editor:** Wise words, indeed! Thank you for sharing your delightful experience with us, Anne. We look forward to seeing more of your adventures with Lili and Fox!
**Anne Sophie:** Thank you! It’s been a pleasure talking about my furry friends!
