“We are at war. Yes, it started out as a special military operation, but as soon as this group was formed there, when the collective West became a participant in this on the side of Ukraine, for us it already became a war. I am convinced of this,” stated Vladimir Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
According to him, Russia “cannot allow the existence” near its borders of a state that promises to return Crimea, as well as the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, under its control.

Previously Peskov said, that the war might not be called a war even following the announcement of mobilization, and the authorities severely punished violators of this prohibition. So 60-year-old wise guy from Moscow Alexey Gorinov received seven years in prison literally for the word “war” uttered at a meeting of the council of deputies.
