The Higher Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced the admission policy of colleges, under which women will no longer be able to take admission in boys’ colleges.
In the announcement of the new admission policy of colleges by the Department of Higher Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it is said that women cannot take admission in mail calls in the presence of BS program in colleges because the mail seats are reduced due to the quota system. , while on the other hand girls get seats in mail colleges along with mail colleges.
In the declaration, it has been directed that women should not be given admission in mail colleges in the presence of mail and per mail colleges having BS program in the same region, however, admission may be allowed in case of remaining satis.
If a girls’ college offers a BS program in a subject that is also offered by another boys’ college within its jurisdiction, women’s admission to a men’s college will be barred.
It should be remembered that earlier there was no restriction on the admission of girls in boys’ colleges, due to which girls got a large number of seats in boys’ colleges even though there was a separate college for girls.
In this regard, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Director Higher Education Prof. Dr. Faridullah Shah told Aaj News about the new admission policy in colleges that women used to get admission in colleges both by mail and per mail, due to which the admission rate of boys is very low. To balance it out, the department introduced a new policy whereby girls in BS programs in different mail and mail colleges in any jurisdiction having the same disciplines (subjects) would get admission only in mail colleges. Can, if there is no discipline in per mile college then girls can get admission in boys college for which 50% quota is also allocated.
Director Higher Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said that the policy will be applied from the academic year 2025-26, but this year girls can take admission according to the old policy.
