Bloomberg Línea – Talently, an edtech that offers training and an employability marketplace that connects Latin American tech talent with international companies, announced a seed round for US$3 million. This is the largest seed round in Spanish-speaking countries for an educational technology company.
500 Latam Startups, Alaya Capital, Salkantay Ventures, Newtype Ventures, Poder Ventures, Latin Leap and angel investors such as the founders of Automattic (WordPress), Cornershop, Clara and Startupeable participated in this seed round.
Talently, founded at the beginning of 2019, by Doménica Obando, Roxana Kern and Cristian Vega in Peru cIt has grown 50x since the pandemic began and today maintains a 30% monthly growth.
The capital will allow the consolidation of the operation in Mexico, Peru, Colombia and Argentina. It will also serve to launch an intelligent match platform between developers and employers, which will represent savings of up to 50%, calculates the edtech.
Another plan is to start operations in the United States, where Latin American talent has been placed in companies such as Pinterest, Airbnb, Lift and IBM.
The edtechs were among the startups that benefited from the rise of e-learning, an example of this is another Peruvian, Crehana, which last year received the largest Series B that an educational startup has received in the region, by the US $70 million dollars led by General Atlantic.

The platform offers training for software developers in tools that allow them to access positions in leading technology companies. The training areas include employability topics (personal branding, handling job interviews), technical English and strengthening of technological skills.through a solution that combines access to unlimited content with personalized advice according to the needs of each profile, and in a scalable way thanks to its technology.
In addition, it connects technological talent with hiring companies in the industry. So far, more than 1,000 students have taken its program and accessed vacancies in the company’s network of allies in the United States.
