Perumda Tirta Raharja Bandung Regency Receives Grant Funds of IDR 10.2 Billion from Australia – 2024-05-08 22:31:43

FOUR years in a row, the Australian Government provided grant funds to the Tirta Raharja Drinking Water Company owned by the Bandung Regency Government. This year, the grant funds provided amounted to IDR 10.2 billion.

The grant was presented by the Australian Ambassador for Climate Change, Kristin Tilley, to the Regent of Bandung, Dadang Supriatna, Wednesday (8/5).

“Thank God, we have received grant assistance from the Australian Embassy for four years in a row. The total for three years reached IDR 13.1 billion. Especially this year, the amount was IDR 10.2 billion,” said Regent Dadang.

In 2021, performance-based grant funds from Australia for Perumda Tirta Raharja will reach IDR 720 million. Then in 2022 it will be IDR 435 million, continuing in 2023 it will increase to IDR 1,722 billion.

“I would like to thank the Australian Embassy, ​​because through the Indonesia-Australia Partnership for Infrastructure (KIAT) program, performance-based grant assistance to Perumda Tirta Raharja continues to increase significantly every year,” added Kang DS, the nickname of the Regent of Bandung.

He explained that the grant funds continued to increase every year. Perumda Tirta Raharja continues to make maximum efforts to fulfill the 11 indicators that are requirements for receiving grant funds.

Main Director of Perumda Tirta Raharja Drinking Water, A Teddy Setiabudi, added that his party is one of the five Regional Drinking Water Companies (PDAM) in Indonesia that received performance-based grant funds. Of the five PDAMs, only Perumda Tirta Raharja Bandung Regency can fulfill the 11 indicators or all performance parameters set by the Australian Government.

“We are making every effort to improve the company’s operational performance. The main goal is to improve services to the community in Bandung Regency so that people get safe drinking water,” he explained.

Teddy explained that the 11 indicators are the water management system, water quality standards which must comply with the standards of the Minister of Health Regulations, service standards to the community, educational communication mechanisms and outreach to the public regarding safe drinking water from PDAM, as well as other technical indicators.
