Climate in Peru. The National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology of Peru (senamhi) reported that some regions will experience intense rain, snow and hail. The institution published a notice on its digital platforms and explained that some of this rainfall will be accompanied by electrical discharges and gusts of wind. Which regions will be affected by the rains?
Senamhi predicted that the affected regions are Ancash, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Cusco, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Junín, La Libertad, Lima, Madre De Dios, Moquegua, Pasco, Puno and San Martín.

It should be noted that the regions with an orange threshold, that is, more intense weather events might be recorded, are Huánuco, Pasco, Huancavelica, Ayacucho and Apurímac.
According to Senamhi, the rainfall of moderate to heavy intensity will be accompanied by electrical discharges and gusts of wind with speeds close to 35 km/h. In addition, snowfall is expected in locations over 4,000 meters high in the central and southern highlands, with accumulated amounts close to 5 centimeters and the occurrence of hail in areas above 2,800 meters high. Isolated short-term rain towards the coast was not ruled out.
For example, accumulated rainfall around 10 mm/day is expected in the northern sierra, above 12 mm/day in the central sierra, and records of over 15 mm/day in the southern sierra.
