Peru expresses its deep regret and solidarity with Brazil over the plane crash

The Peruvian Foreign Ministry expressed on Friday its deep regret and solidarity with the Brazilian government and people for the plane crash that occurred in the state of São Paulo, which caused the death of its 61 occupants.

In a message on social media, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also extended “its deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”

The plane with 61 people on board crashed on Friday in a residential area in the Brazilian municipality of Vinhedo, in the state of São Paulo, in an accident in which there were no survivors.

The aircraft, from the Voepass airline, fell vertically, spinning around itself, until it crashed into an area of ​​vegetation within a residential area, near a house.

There were no survivors among the 61 occupants of the plane, including 57 passengers and four crew members, Brazilian authorities said.

Initially, authorities said there were 62 passengers on the flight, but hours later the airline corrected the information, lowering the death toll to 61, according to the director of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), Luiz Ricardo de Souza, at a press conference in Brasilia.
