PERTAMINA, through its upstream subholding PT Pertamina Hulu Energi, produced up to 566 thousand barrels of oil per day (BOPD) until the end of last year. This amount is 68% of national crude oil production.

Meanwhile, 2023 gas production from upstream subholdings contributes 33% of national production or the equivalent of 2,766 million standard cubic feet per day (million standard cubic feet per day/mmscfd). Thus, Pertamina’s oil and gas (oil and gas) production reached 1,044 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (mboepd).

Pertamina’s Vice President for Corporate Communication, Fadjar Djoko Santoso, said that his party is the largest contributor to national oil production. Based on data from the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas), most of the 10 largest oil producing companies operating in the country are subsidiaries or affiliates of Pertamina.

“Pertamina contributes the majority to Indonesia’s oil production,” said Fadjar in an official statement, Thursday (14/3). He explained that the largest oil and gas production came from Pertamina EP, Pertamina ONWJ (Offshore North West Java), Pertamina Hulu Mahakam, and Pertamina Hulu Rokan.

The Rokan Block is said to be able to contribute the highest oil production in Indonesia with 161,623 barrels per day (bpd). “In the hands of Pertamina’s subsidiaries, oil field production in the Rokan Block continues to increase, so that it can contribute significantly to national oil production,” added Fadjar.
