On the back of which cars are personalized license plates popular?
It is rather a business that… rolls for the coffers of the State: some 11,021 owners of a vehicle reserved a personalized license plate in 2021, representing income of 11 million euros.
The price is indeed 1,000 euros to be able to choose its registration, an amount which does not include the cost of the plate. You still have to count an additional 30 euros, including shipping.
Anyway, it is clearly a growing business since it is an absolute record, to be compared with the 7,069 plates issued in 2020 (5,814 in 2019).
The bottom of the wave had been reached in the wake of the decision taken at the end of 2015 by the Minister of Mobility at the time Jacqueline Galant (MR) to increase the cost of this service to 2,000 euros.
