The early hours of this Saturday brought a strong South wind which, unfortunately, left damage in different parts of the Central Valley and other areas. It especially affected Capayán, and following passing through Capital and Valle Viejo, it continued to the east of the province. Common denominators were power and water outages, trees downed, roof damage, some blown up, and as always, some cars were damaged.
Users are asked to travel with caution; Avenida Presidente Castillo is (at least until the time of writing this journalistic note) full of branches and some branches that were detached by the wind, plus a fallen tree and loose cables. The outlook in most neighborhoods is no different.
Cold front
The yellow alert from the National Weather Service had been announced yesterday morning with the possibility of rain, storms and electrical activity.
The wind was felt strongly in the Central Valley between 1 and 2 tonight.
