Persib Bandung coach Bojan Hodak confirmed that his team will try to show their best game in the 2024 President’s Cup pre-season tournament which starts on Friday (19/7).
As reported by Between On Thursday, Bojan explained that his team would indeed use the 2024 President’s Cup as preparation for the 2024/2025 League 1, but that did not mean that Persib Bandung would play half-heartedly.
Although he wanted to show his best game, the Croatian coach admitted that Maung Bandung’s preparations were not optimal because of the short time.
“Looking ahead to the first match tomorrow, we are not ready, but we are happy that the players are starting to come in and we will become more mature,” said Bojan.
In addition to the short preparation period, Bojan added that several players were still doubtful regarding appearing in the first match, such as Dedi Kusnandar who had just completed the Hajj pilgrimage and Tyrone del Pino who had just joined following being loaned from a Thai club.
The coach who had a long career in Malaysia continued that the President’s Cup was useful for his players to “warm up their engines” for the real competition.
“We are preparing for League 1 and ACL 2. With this tournament we will be more prepared for League 1 and ACL 2 matches,” concluded Bojan. It is known that Persib Bandung acts as the host of Group A of the 2024 President’s Cup at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency. Persib is grouped with PSM Makassar, Borneo FC, and Persis Solo.
