Two criminals who robbed him more than a million pesos to a Chinese citizen following a bank leak in the Buenos Aires town of Tortuguitas they were arrested following a chase and shooting that lasted for a few kilometers on the Pan-American highwayjudicial sources reported this Saturday.
It all started yesterday followingnoon at a Banco Santander branch located at kilometer 36.5 of the Pilar branch of said highway.
Judicial spokesmen informed the Télam news agency that a Chinese citizen was surprised when he was leaving the bank by three armed assailantswho stole a backpack with more than a million pesos that he had withdrawn.
After that, the thieves got into a white Citroën C3 car and escaped in the direction of the City of Buenos Aires.
When you get to the Los Olivos bridge roundregarding, the criminals advanced once morestwhich caught the attention of a mobile from the Pilar Road Police, which began to chase them at full speed.
The assailants began shooting at the police, who repelled the attack and a brief shootout ensued between the two parties, sources from the investigation reported.
The chase spread through the West Colectora of the Panamericana and ended when the car in which the thieves were escaping collided with a guardrail, at kilometer 33.
One of the criminals got off the vehicle and managed to escape on footwhile the other two suspects were apprehended by the uniformed officers.
A 9 mm pistol and a millionaire riot
Once requisitioned, the troops kidnapped the detainees a 9-millimeter pistol and the backpack with the money stolen from the Chinese citizen. For their part, the police officers who intervened in the pursuit and subsequent armed confrontation escaped unharmed, the sources consulted added.
The prosecutor intervenes in the case Lorena Carpovichin charge of the decentralized Functional Instruction Unit (UFI) 21 of Malvinas Argentinas, who following investigating the defendants -one of Chilean nationality and the other Colombian- asked the corresponding Guarantee Court for the formal arrest of both.
