THE Executive Board of the Indonesian Gymnastics Association (PB Persani) or Gymnastics Indonesia reviewed the Indonesia Arena in Jakarta to find out the readiness of this venue in facing the 53rd World Gymnastics Championships in 2025.
“This is our third visit, but this time we were accompanied by Serge as an advisor who provided input to improve preparations for the 2025 Jakarta World Championships,” said Persani General Chairperson Ita Yuliati as reported by BetweenFriday (13/9).
The Serge Ita mentioned was Serge van Poelvoorde who is the representative of the Asia Gymnastics Union. Ita and Serge also visited the Jakarta Convention Center which will be used as a training hall for gymnasts.
Ita said that this visit was to finalize the determination of the area and rooms for the 2025 World Gymnastics Championships, but she considered that the Indonesia Arena still needed some improvements.
“From the visit earlier, there were several notes that we need to discuss with the PPK-GBK (Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Center) so that Indonesia Arena can meet the requirements according to FIG standards,” said Ita.
The World Gymnastics Championships in Jakarta will take place on August 19-25, 2025, featuring two disciplines, men’s and women’s, from 1,000 delegates from 58 countries.
