Perpignan: It was difficult to find gasoline at a Total station this Sunday

Since September 1, 2022, motorists have benefited from a discount of 30 euro cents per liter paid for by the State. Exceptional aid to offset the sharp rise in fuel prices. But Total went further by significantly lowering the price at the pump. Suddenly, the stations are stormed.

With a price per liter of unleaded 95 E10 at €1.35 as displayed on Saturday at the pump on Avenue d’Espagne in Perpignan, motorists literally rushed to Total stations. Because between the discount and the additional gesture of the brand, the price of gasoline is gradually returning to more “normal” levels. No wonder that this Sunday, the out of stock is displayed in any case at the entrance to several stations in Perpignan and Rivesaltes.

From the toll north of the motorway to the Route d’Argelès via the Avenue d’Espagne in Perpignan, the guns are hung up, out of service. Unable to access the pumps. Lack of fuel in the tanks. It must be said that since Saturday, the Perpignanais have not hesitated to queue to refuel like at the station on Avenue d’Argelès where the queue reached several hundred meters.

Total victim of its success, so much so that the energy supplier has a hard time anticipating the supply of these stations which remain stranded on weekends. A scene that repeats itself across France. But a situation which should therefore be restored as of Monday morning.
