The first shock dates back a long time. Valentine Cuny-Le Callet was not 11 when she came across a photo stolen by an American journalist in 1928 in a book: the first of a capital execution by electric chair. The image will never leave her. Almost fifteen years later, at 25, she is partly behind a remarkable graphic novel, “Perpendicular to the Sun”, her first, crowned this Thursday by the Fnac-France Inter prize of the best comic book album of the year, of which the Parisian is a partner.
