Asunción, IP Agency.- The fairs generate motivation to return to work, produce and have faith in family farming that was unmotivated, said the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Giménez. It was during the opening of the Family Agriculture Fair on the Costanera of Asunción.
Minister Giménez highlighted that producers are motivated by the permanent fairs promoted by the MAG in the capital and different parts of the country; They once once more have interest and desire to work and produce to constantly participate in agricultural fairs.
In that sense, he maintained that producers are very satisfied with the spaces in which they can participate, with the possibility of obtaining income without intermediaries.
He highlighted that the characteristic of Family Farming used to be the families’ poor connection with the market and their products being sold at a low price, which disappointed them, because they did not get money for their products.
Regarding the tomatoes offered by the vendors at 12,000 guaraníes per kilo at the Family Agriculture Fairs, he pointed out that they come from Caaguazú and other parts of the country.
Likewise, he reported that imports are open, but the price in the neighboring country is also high; In addition to highlighting that the horticultural products we consume are imported and that the tomatoes were not smuggled in, as it should always be so that producers have the opportunity to sell their products well, added the head of the MAG.
