Affordable housing, a future-oriented infrastructure and social balance were some of the topics discussed by the leaders of the Upper Austrian statutory cities and municipalities last Wednesday at the Upper Austria. Cities Day were brought to the table. The venue for this conference, which focused on the future of urban development in Upper Austria, was the Perg Technology Center.
The mayor of Perg, LABg. Anton Froschauer (VP), welcomed a number of high-profile speakers and participants as host, including the chairman of Upper Austria. Association of cities, mayor Klaus Luger (Linz), as well as the presidium members mayor Andreas Rabl (Wels) and mayor Sabine Naderer-Jelinek (Leonding).
Froschauer thanked the delegates from the local cities present for their constructive and objective discussions and invited them to an exclusive tour of the Perger Technology Center. Froschauer, together with Luger, Naderer-Jelinek and Rabl, forms the executive board of Upper Austria. The Upper Austrian Cities Association is a platform through which cities and municipalities in Upper Austria come together to discuss challenges in the area of urban development and develop solutions. In addition to the state capital Linz, the Upper Austria regional group currently has 39 member municipalities.
