The filming of the first episodes of the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians will begin in June in Canada. The casting of Percy Jackson formalized in a few weeks?
Very close to its readers, Rick Riordan shares behind-the-scenes news from the making of the series on his blog. A few days ago, the author of Percy Jackson indicated that the casting is closed (at least for the main roles) but cannot be communicated at this time.
« I know you’re waiting for casting information. I think we are very close to having our main trio, namely Percy, Grover and Annabeth, but I can’t announce anything until we have all the necessary approvals and deals are done etc. You should know that it is a process that takes time. Be patient. »
However, Rick Riordan has shown to be optimistic and according to him, it is only a matter of time before Disney communicates the names of the actors who will join the adventure.
“My guess is that we’re at least a few weeks away from being able to announce anything. When we have the three names of who will play the main characters, we should announce it immediately (but beware this is JUST my personal guess). »
Series Percy Jackson follows a 12-year-old boy who learns he is a demigod. He has just come to terms with his new supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his precious lightning bolt to give to Poseidon. Now Percy must cross America to find him and restore order to Olympus. If renewed for multiple seasons, then the series will address each new book for each season.
The eight episodes of this first season will be directed by James Bobin, Jet Wilkinson and Anders Engstrom.
