After almost a decade of waiting, “Percy Jackson” fans can be happy: the popular fantasy book series will be given its own series in the future. In the meantime, a first, rough start date has already been set. We’ll have to wait a while for the new episodes to be released. Find out what we know regarding the upcoming “Percy Jackson” series in the following article.
It’s been 17 years since the original “Percy Jackon” was released. The fantasy book was written by US author Rick Riordan and quickly became very popular. The need was so great that Riordan added four more novels. At the center is the eponymous hero Percy Jackson, whose normal life as a teenager is completely thrown into disarray. It turns out that he is actually the demigod Perseus, Greek mythology is true and the Greek gods actually exist too.
Two films followed the book series, the first being released in 2010 and the second hitting theaters in 2013. Since then, the franchise has been quiet, at least until recently good news made the rounds: Percy Jackson is returning and this time should cast a spell over the series world. “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” is the English title of the show, which will be launched on the streaming provider Disney Plus. As the website Polygon reports, for example, Walker Scobell has already found the right leading actor.
The rising star will play a young Percy Jackson in the Disney Plus series and has previously appeared in Netflix’s The Adam Project. Many details regarding “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” remain unclear. This includes, in particular, who will appear in front of the camera alongside the main actor Scobell and who will end up in the supporting roles.
But we still know some things: The plot of the first season is supposed to present the story of the first book in 8 episodes. And fortunately there is already an approximate time window in which the show should start. As Netzwelt reveals, among other things, the series should begin in the first half of next year. Hopefully by 2023 we’ll be learning a lot more regarding “Percy Jackson And The Olympians” to keep us entertained.
