People’s deputy of Ukraine and member of the Olympic team as a representative of Poltava Region Zhan Beleniuk confidently defeated a Chinese athlete and passed the 1/4 finals of the 2024 Olympics in Greco-Roman wrestling in the weight category up to 87 kg.
In the first fight, Zhang confidently defeated the Chinese Qian Haitao with a score of 7:1.
In the 1/4 finals, Beleniuk will compete with the representative of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Tursynov.
It should be noted that 33-year-old Zhan Beleniuk is the Tokyo 2021 Olympic champion and the silver medalist in Rio 2016. For the Ukrainian, this is the last Olympics in his career. According to the Olympic champion, after the Games in Paris, he wants to concentrate on public affairs.
