People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Murad Rajabov died at the age of 74, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kun.uz.
On the evening of April 8, the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan announced the death of a famous actor in its telegram channel.
“People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, our beloved actor Murad Radjabov has died at the age of 74 following a long illness,” the statement said.
Murad Rajabov was born on May 30, 1949 in Tashkent. He graduated from the acting department of the Tashkent Theater and Art Institute named following A.N. Ostrovsky.
The actor, who played roles in dozens of films during his career, has become one of the brightest stars of Uzbek cinema. Gained fame thanks to such films as “It was in Kokand” (1977), “Love and Fury” (1978), “Beware! Snakes!” (1979).
Standing apart in this list are the serial film novel “Fiery Roads” (1977-1984) regarding the fate of the Uzbek poet, playwright, composer, revolutionary and public figure Khamza Hakimzade Niyazi, as well as the action-packed series “Code of Silence” (1990) and “Code of Silence-2 (1993) regarding two policemen’s attempt to confront mafia clans in Uzbekistan in the 1980s.
Murad Rajabov has not acted in films since 2015. At the beginning of this year, it became known that he was very ill.
