People of Karachi are lucky, unfortunately the theater has ended in Lahore, actor Umair Rana – Life & Style

Another opportunity for entertainment for the citizens of Karachi. The National Academy of Performing Arts has launched its first ever Women’s Performing Arts Festival, featuring women-centric stories.

The 16-day program by Napa will have theater plays, dance performances and musical evenings besides film screenings of artists, on the first day Tehreek-e-Niswan founder Shema Kirmani will perform on stage.

CEO Napa Junaid Zuberi says this festival was a dream come true today, for the first time this step has been taken and we hope to organize this festival every time.

Well-known Pakistani actors also participated in the festival. Actor Umair Rana says that theater has been done by women since the beginning.

Umair Rana said that our region has always progressed beyond stories, theater is also a part of it and the stage is the identity of an actor.

He said that whether it is theater or TV, both mediums are different. When I came to TV, I had to learn TV too.

He further said that I am Lahori, we used to be called the hub of theatre, but unfortunately the theater has ended in Lahore, so the people of Karachi are lucky that there are good quality theaters here now.

Among the prominent participants of the festival are Sheema Kirmani, Nighat Chaudhary, Nighat Sultana, Seerat Pirzadi, Nida Butt, Sawira Ali, Nazia Zuberi Hasan and Ritika Dhanja.

The festival which started from April 25 will continue till May 10.
